Nitecore SRT9 Tactical Flashlight Is Worth to Buy for Ourdoors Use
Nitecore flashlights are absolutly most useful for those who like to go outdoors because of its high quality and powerful beam. Recently, Nitecore has launched their new product called Nitecore SRT9 Tactical Flashlight, which is the latest version of SRT series flashlights. The SRT9 Flashlight has been one of the most popular models of Nitecore flashlights since its release. Now, let's find out more details about this SRT9 Tactical LED Flashlight.
Design
The flashlight is about 5.8-inch long with a 40mm head and made of black aero grade aluminium alloy in a die-cast unibody construction. The sides of it are a bit flattish and with the texture design, so it's much smoother and more comfortable to hold in hand. The SRT9 has a stainless steel retaining ring on the top which protects the glass as well as the LEDs. It also features a blue power indicator at the side of the light which will blink to alert the user of low battery status. The highlight of this flashlight is its smart selector ring, which enables to rapidly switch to all modes.
The main tactical switch is a forward clicky switch, so it has a momentary on function and the button has a decent range of motion before it latches. A slot on each side of the tail allows the lanyard to be attached. The holes are large so threading the lanyard is easy The tail-end location keeps using the lanyard from feeling awkward. Given the size of the holes, though, Nitecore could have used a split/dual hole design to keep the lanyard loop to the side instead of over the tail end where it affects tailstanding.
Performance
The Nitecore SRT9 is equipped with a Cree XHP50 LED for white light and auxiliary RGB red, green, blue and ultraviolet (500mW, wavelength 365mm) LEDs for colored light. By the way, The XHP50 LED is a quad-die emitter, which would naturally produce a crosshair in the beam. This is still visible at a very close distance. White has 70 degree (total edge to edge) spill with slight spot having 20 degree. The color LEDs have a bout a 50 degree spill. It supports a maximum output of 2150 lumens of white light and a beam throw distance of 246 meters.
Besides, the flashlight features ATR (Advanced Temperature Regulation) technology which allows it to regulate its output and avoid overheating on the surface of the light. This tactical flashlight is also impact resistant up to 1.5 meters and supports IPX8 water resistant.
Power
The SRT9 can be powered by two rechargeable 18650 Lithium Ion batteries or four CR123/RCR123 batteries. The SRT9 Tactical Flashlight does come with a battery power indicator, and it's a little blue power indicator on the body of the flashlight that blinks once ever two seconds when the battery power level is about 50%. look at the indicator, if it flashes about once every couple of seconds the battery is about 50% level or less; if the light is blinking rapidly, the battery is about 10% or less. This is a wonderfully convenient feature, as you don't have to worry when your batteries are going to run out. It's great to have an idea as to what the voltage is at.
Furthermore, the tailcap isn't directional – it can be installed either direction, which causes the light not to operate. Experienced users will be able to look at the spring location, and know how to insert the cells.
In conclusion, the srt9 tactical flashlight is an amazing product with multi-function for hunting and search or camping. As a outdoors flashlight, the srt9 has a wide angle beam and easy to operate, which is tailored for outdoors lovers. Nitecore has a good reputation in terms of flashlights, so this one is also definitely worth to buy. I think it won't let you down.
